Agricultural sector

Friuli Venezia Giulia possesses about 228.000 hectares of useful agricultural surface, occupied in prevalence by arable land, then by fields, pastures and woody plants (substantially grapevine plantation) at about the same dimension. The useful arable surface in rotation is about 160.000 hectares, with a substantial balance between corn and soy plantations.

In the following table it is showed the economic value of the regional agricultural production, and the 3-year period trend 2017-2019. As can be noted, wine is at the first place (high added value), pork meat production (decreasing), milk and dairy products (slightly increasing) and corn and soy plantations (decreasing at the expense of other productions).
