The cluster is a group of regional subjects (agricultural, industrial, craft or SME enterprises, universities and other entities) that have an aligned development strategy, even if each one operating in their own interest.
Therefore, the components of a cluster can be different subjects, not necessarily organized in networks or other stable forms of collaboration, which pursue the same concrete objective of growth that, in our case, is found in the Agri-food or Bioeconomy perimeter.
Therefore, the Clusters in a region can be multiple.

The work of our Agency is to identify the clusters within the agri-food and bioeconomic sector, determine their value, possibly give them visibility and voice, encourage their aggregation on shared strategies and objectives, thus helping their growth in terms of turnover and employment.

The new local, national and European development policy recognizes the role of Cluster aggregations as real drivers of development. Their identification and valorization is therefore an extremely interesting objective. Alongside the economic support favored by the structural policies known as POR-FESR and PSR-EAFRD, there is a real possibility of interconnecting different Clusters, from different regions, from different nations on common growth projects. This occurs at national level through the National Operational Plan (PON) and the CTN (National Technology Clusters) and at Community level through the S3 platforms which, in our case, is the S3AgriFood one.

The agency does not replace any of the subjects already present in the area in its tasks and functions, but rather pushes them to collaborate with each other. Although the Agency is private, it has a non-profit core structure. It is not a trade association, nor a trade union or an enterprise network manager, it does not provide services in competition with professionals, nor does it sell agricultural or food products. Conversely, it promotes the participation of all these subjects in the growth strategies of the regional sector.
